Beginning..

This week is just like the beginning of all stress and workload! 
I finally finshed those damned lines and squares, and i think I’d probably be penalized for the very bad job..
it almost seems like many things are going down to the negative side, or rather negative respond. For today’s typography it seems like the teacher’s unhappy about the amount of work we have done… okay.. counting me I probably did very little things. Cant be helped… showed my stuffs and one bit went wrong So I had to redo the face… and it turned out like this! Well, at first no one’s sure that we could use computer, and viola, for like the rest of the class I got myself stuck to a screen for an hour or so to get this:
Originally, I planned a very pretty face and eye for this lady, but according to my teacher, he says that it’s not interesting.. to replace straight lines with “l” or “(” then, I replace that whole facial line into a C.. even thou it looks a little weird, but so far it;s the best result I could get… Besides all the problems, I think doing this could be actually fun! hehe
Guess, during my shower I suddenly had an idea for the 3 photographs of the week ;J And it’s be watches

My new book’s here!! YAY! Im really happy about it… The Chronicles of the necromancer.. oh my ended in book 3 in such a rush! I almost teared when I read about the part where the undead {Vayash Moru} tried to bring Carina across and that Jonmarc is ready to anything to get her back! Think of those again make my heart tighten! I dont know how long last waitng for the next book! lol~

Damn Squares!

OMO! I practically spent the whole day outlining/tracing/filling up SQUARES! And it’s still INCOMPLETE! Geez, I feel like dying. Thinking or even looking at it makes me… SQUARES! When will I ever finish it?
I had almost completely forgotten about making a blackbox for photography class.. right now Im in the middle of painting the insides BLACK~ but it doesnt look too good. Maybe I shouldnt have use a dry and stiff brush.. well I just grab whatever that’s in the pen holder.
Now let me think… I still have to pick out the alphabets that for my typography classes, and Illustration’s 3 illustrations. I’ve found my first box and 2 more to go.. I think jean’s pocket is a good idea.. heh; I will post a photo on it.
And Im so sleepy now!!! What should I do… I guess I will just go to bed, the worse case I shall go to a magazine store next door and grab a mag and photocopy all the texts. T-T

New school year

Great! here comes my first 5hour stupid hole! Tsk tsk, i will just have to criticize school’s “great” planning on student’s timetables.. AND NOW, i just realize that I’ll be having english lessons and photography at the same hour tomorrow from 11h to 13h. Great huh? And the better news is that my friend told me that since our timetable clashes.. there will be modifications!! Which mean “woohoo” my timetable would be switched and i wouldn’t have to suffer the 5hour emptiness during wednesday afternoons. Till then, my wednesday afternoons will be FREE! Ending at 11h, better then i have wished.
First week of school, so far so good? It seems like even Volume is doing well. That lesson just ended.. heh we are to participate in creating our very own christmas trees with a given theme. And the theme’s “Moulin Rouge” Currently I thought of some weirdo things like combining the idea of a snow globe and typography together… but it seems like the production will be VERY DIFFICULT! Wish me luck till then… it has be to completed within 3 weeks.
(heh; it feels totally different to be using laptop in a mc donalds in the second story watching people walking around below.. guess it’d be my new habit from today onwards)
Illustration class was pretty much like the previous “illu” classes, This time round it’s to draw your own portrait.. yet it doesn’t have to look like you! Doesn’t it sounds kinda funny?? Drawing your portrait yet doesn’t have to look like yourself? Well- the main purpose is to develop our own unique style. So I’ve searched for a pretty photo of a doll to illustrate myself! LOL
Typography’s just like typography.. explained a couple of things like the parts of a letter! Like see the “T”, do you know whats the bar that construct the body of the “T” called? Actually I don’t know either. loll Or maybe I forgot, I saw the word, heh I will see it again. Since the teacher made all of us order for a typography book that cost a freaking 20euros. Where it’s like a size of a A5 sketch book, consist of NOTHING but WORDS! Geez, its like $40 SING DOLLARS MAN! I can buy a much better book instead of that wordy book.
Then the “brief”s out and off to work. The new assignment, which i think is a very common task for ANY typography class- by using characters, construct an image, be it a portrait, animals or plants.. Well and I first start with portraits~~ it has always been something I wanted to do and viola~~
One of my ideas, the very first portrait I thought of. It seems like in negative it looks much better :D
Conception classes; I guess you can call them Advertising instead. The teacher’s really cool. I realized; having 2 advertising teachers, (both of them old enough to be 60s or 70s) are Art Directors! Which I think it’s so damn cool. Previous teacher M Basurko (not sure of the spelling) had been- euhh, LOL I mean he’s kind. But he’s a little unpredictable. Like when you showed him what you’re planning to do for the assignment, at this moment he could tell you that the idea idea’s great and he loves it. Yet when he marks it and return the assignment to you, you get 5/10 or even 4.. and you’d be like what did I do wrong? And this new teacher- errr what’s his name (lol – still not used to it yet) he kept comparing himself to M Basurko.. which is like so funny and something not any normal teacher would do right??? But oh well- he did it in a joking manner. He’s funny despite that I think he doesn’t look much older than Mr Basurko he had health problems, needing a stick to help him walk. My friend label him as Dr House where he too also said the same thing. We spent one hour to present ourselves!! ** argh *** I hate that.. makes me get anxious but i think i need get rid of this bad “phobia” if I want to be an Art Director. LOL
Then we got our assignment, which is another autoportrait. But this time round you gotta illustrate yourself in a humorous way and at the same time play with your name. Like my name’s Carol Goh. I gotta transform it into something like “Car rolling on gold” I think it’s pretty hard for me. For everything that comes out of my mind’s english and I’d have to change it to french.. but by changing “car rolling on gold” into french, it doesn’t make sense. And furthermore, it doesn’t sound that funny. And we had 1 hour to get some ideas out.
The best part was when all of a sudden the teacher said “WAIT! I needa go pee pee” All of us was like HAHAHA.. I think the future lessons would be fun.
Visual Identity, OH MY.. i had a really bad time in it. Somehow my stomach hurts like mad.. and the whole lesson was plaining taking notes and listening to the teacher for 2h30mins. Not easy eh. Then at the last 30mins.. we are to draw squares… but damn these squares.. i think it’s a waste of time… but its a training for us to “learn” how to draw lines… thinking of this weekend where Im going to be stuck to my desktop and draw those freaking lines… trying to differentiate extra fine, fine, normal, bold and extra bold… imagine all the stupid precision i need to take note off? thinking of it only makes me sigh. Worse case, the type of paper needed to draw this arrant available from all the art shops. It seems like I will have to think of a way and substitute it with Bristol paper… such complicated-ness I hope we will not be penalized.
Here’s about to conclude my first half of my 5hrs. It seems like there’s getting more and more people crowded around here at mc donalds.. Cant be helped, its lunch time now.. and I will be off to another campus to sign that damn paper and eat with my friends.
