Photoblog Goodbye 2012! 2 Notes 1st Jan

Oh yeah! (gangnam) Goodbye 2012! Happy 2013! (yes) And who was saying the world would end on the 21st Dec 2012? I personally didn’t believe for a second. I’m doing my yearly ritual of summing up 2012! Looking through my posts throughout the year, 2012 didn’t feel that exciting. Maybe it’s because I lack of pretty photos! Let’s get started with my summary (argh)

• january/ febuary •

January started with Chinese New Year celebration! It’s going to start again soon! I wonder if i’d start snapping photos again. It may be too boring to spam the same old photos again!

Then homey celebrations will start. Lots of people are back in Singapore. Including my brother TT_TT the 2013 chinese new year celebration will be a little lonelier TT_TT

• march •

Hunting of internships begins. Running up and down from Paris and Bordeaux, going for interviews and looking for the right company for my 3 month internship!

• april •

New found cravings, Raspberries. Which lasted till today *_* I think it’d last forever!

• may •

Beginning of freedom!!! Best time of the year. 3 months in Paris for my internship is totally the best time of the year. The taste of freedom is way too addictive.

Not to mention that I’ve discovered my cooking talents! :) But i ought to discover more recipes. I think my best dishes at the moment are pastas, okonomiyaki, hotcakes, sushis and the super easy japanese curry rice! Come to think of it, I haven’t shared my sushi making experience right? Oh yeah, which brings me to show these hidden photos =3

• june •

For the first time ever, I went to a private concert. Maroon 5 of course, thanks to my friend’s fandom. I’ve never been to any private concerts, never been soo close to the singers before. It’s kinda different. If only Kpop singers hold more private concerts like this! *_*

• july •

Wee, after 2 months of freedom, my parents drop by to visit me. Say July, say summer sales! But unfortunately the wonderful weekend ended in a shitty way, with shitty thieves breaking my dad’s car. (rage) Causing my mom to panic, they went home immediately, travelled around 600km on high way with a broken window (whyu)

After 4 years of discussion, I finally made it to the Japan Expo. Even managed to meet and snap a photo with Ein Lee! Though i’m a little disappointed of this Japan Expo. But it was an interesting experience!

After 3 months of freedom, it was time to move back to my southern home!

The next day back in the south of France, it’s the yearly ritual to visit Dune de Pyla. Got myself badly sun burned within just one day! Too used to the cloudy sky in Paris during the past 3 months!

• august •

I finally visited la co(o)orniche! Living at bassin arcachon for so long, it’s one of the “it” place to go. I only visited there on my 22nd birthday!

And after soo long, I finally managed to drag my parents to Arcachon with me to enjoy the magnificent fireworks.

Going back to Singapore!! This trip’s main aim was to send my brother off to military though. As usual, I wanted to make my surprise trip back but it never work (whyu)

• septempber •

Using my chance in Singapore to pop by Tai Wan for a few days *_* Woohoo, I’d definitely pop by again for shopping with my girlfriends =3

Checking out the new trends, renting rooms with Wii and Xbox among buddies :D (gangnam)

Secondary class reunion! (bear) One of the best thing during each of my trip, being able to see everyone from my class of 2007! It feels really great to be meeting everyone again, including our beloved teacher Ms Jane Hoe =3

My best of best buddies sending me off at the airport! Never missing out on each time when I come back!

• october/november •

apparently nothing great happened in October. Master Two finally started // My dissertation was crap. Went through a difficult week alone, thinking of all the worse possibilities. Sometimes, it still hunts me- but I try not to think about it.

• december •

Exploring the Christmas market in town with Isabelle and Laetitia! Our mini reunion after Paris. Enjoying our new discovery of a Korean restaurant in the heart of Bordeaux *_*

(Soon to blog-post) After 5 years, I finally made a trip to the snow mountains again. Even if I did not get to ski, the chance will come by soon!

Lastly, a very heartwarming early countdown with these dear friends through Facetime.

So, have your 2012 been meaningful? I’m really glad that I have this bunch of close friends, I’d hope we’d continue to be like this forever!! Till then, I hope to see everyone again next year!!!

A very Happy 2013 ahead!

I’ve followed your blog enough to remember 90% of everything here. You had quite an exciting year! Well any year with internships is exciting to me.

You mentioned cloudy skies of Paris, which reminds me of something. I heard that southern France (and Spain too actually, like Barcelona) has quite nice summers, as opposed to the north Paris area. My mom keeps wanting a family trip to Europe and I don’t want to go because it’s cold! I should probably change my mindset.

You attended school until 2007 in Singapore? So you moved to France for university? Haha sorry for all the nosy questions! I am curious because your situation is interesting! :P

Wow! That makes me really happy! Yes indeed, 2012 was quite an eye opener for my freedom and I’m loving it.

Yep that’s exactly how it is. Northern France is cold, winter times are often snowing… and my side, south-west of france is quite the opposite. It’s always warmer in my area, and it HARDLY snow here. you’d get say 1% chance of snow that’d last not even a day. You can only enjoy a couple of hours of snowy white sceneries ;( So i guess you should change your mindset! If you ever visit south of France, TELL ME!! :D I’d be happy to be your guide!

lol, no worries about it ;) Nope i didn’t move to France for university. I actually moved to and fro quite a lot of times because of my dad’s work – which is related to the air force. My overprotective parents like to keep me close to them, that’s why after my major exams in 2007 in singapore, they brought me back. I struggled a while with language barrier and stuffs and found my current design school ;) It’s hard at first but i guess i adapted myself :D
