Haagen Dazs Redesign
31st May • 12 Comment
Many of you know that I am a heavy ice cream eater, and to be more specific Haagen Dazs! It’s freaking expensive in Singapore for the amount you get. I hardly ever eat them nor tasted them before I was 17-18yrs old! Until I came to France to realize that they are so much cheaper! Thus it become my habit of having ice cream as my daily desert! It must be shocking to some of you! But I can control myself I just managed to split one whole tub for 7 days! Or the 4 days when the days gets warmer!
Now that I moved to Paris, my usual supermarket Carrefour isn’t around the corner anymore! Neither do I have my car just 5 meters away from where I am. So hunting for reasonable priced Haagen Dazs make it a lot more difficult! I’m left with the ONE and ONLY last tub and it’s frustrating! I don’t feel “secure” in my own head. I know it sounds crazy!
So then, there’s promotions in Carrefour market for 3 tubs of Haagen Dazs at 9.90€ instead of 5.20-5.98€ a TUB! But then again, it seems like these promotions are available EVERYWHERE… EXCEPT PARIS.. Dang it! It’s the weekend already! I guess I would spend this weekend searching through different Carrefour Market looking for this promotion!
I managed to snap photos of my previous HD purchase during the 2nd one at 50%. I wanted to complain a little about their new packaging.
The older packaging had golden lids and the new one had red lids. I’m kinda sad that they took away the golden colors. I thought their main principles was “premium ice cream”, and the red lids didn’t represent any “premium” notions in it in my opinion. I can understand that they want to lift their image a bit to the younger generations. But sometimes I think it’s nice to keep it a little more old school.
At least I like the new layout for the body. But what do you think???
Previously, i’m a all for “Cookies and cream” person, but ever since I tried Caramel biscuits and cream, i’m in love with it. I can’t seem to get rid of this new bias-ness! Anyone can recommend any flavor for me to try it out? I actually started out with Ben&Jerry’s Cookies and Cream, but apparently this flavor can’t be found in France. But I have not tried walking around in Paris to look for it. So instead I went for Chocolate fudge brownie, but after some time, I start to find chocolate ice cream not that pleasing?! lol I have no words for it ;S that’s how i landed on Caramel biscuits and cream.

Smoked Salmon & Cream Mushroom
29th May • 3 Comment
I think i can totally convert into some food blogger! After a short discussion over what to eat for dinner earlier, i finally settled with smoked salmon & cream mushroom pasta! I think i saw some photos of pasta last few days, so i do admit that I had a little urge to eat pasta!
I dare say that this presentation look pretty and delicious right? Anyway, I didn’t really search for a recipe online. I just cooked based on my little pasta experience! Besides my knowledge of ingredients is quite a mess~ Like what is crème fraîche in english? or what is 钛白粉 (i don’t even know if it’s written correctly in chinese!) in english! So even if i search for recipes online, i might not be able to find all the ingredients i need! So continue reading if you wanna see how i cooked it!
I didn’t specially buy anything for the ingredients, I just used whatever I have. For mushrooms, I only had one huge “Champignon de Paris” (See what I mean?) Unfortunately, I did not take photos of the whole progress!
1. Chop mushrooms!
2. Heat up your wok, put in a bit of butter (I used butter because it smells awesome!), cook your mushrooms!
3. Get your crème fraîche (I used this one). Pour half of it into a bowl, add a bit of water and corn flour! (I had no measurements! Everything is based on feeling!)
4. Stir well!
5. Bring your smoked salmon, tear them into smaller pieces, put them into the wok.
6. After 2 minutes, pour in the sauce mixture and let it boil for 2-5minutes. I added a squeeze of lemon juice too!
7. Add the spagettis! (Oh, I add in a little bit of olive oil to keep the spagettis from sticking together too much)
I actually already cooked the spagettis last 2 days. I kept them in the fridge. Since I can’t really estimate when they are uncooked. I tend to cook too much :S But luckily I can keep them in the fridge for a few days!
8. Stir At the same time, I put salt and pepper. So mix well, I used a chopstick to try to gauge the seasoning. And when it gets too dry, I re-did step 3 and made more sauce.
9. You’re done!
What I cooked is enough for 2 person! So my second plate becomes my lunch tomorrow!
10. After the pasta is served in dishes, I used the remaining oil in the wok to grill my left over smoked salmon! So all’s that’s left is to decorate, and put some spice! I love this spice that I found in Carrefour market! It makes everything tastes a lot better! Maybe because i’m a Singaporean? Singaporeans tend to like spicy food!
Here you go, my first recipe gone online! It’s getting late! 1:30AM already!! Hoof, tomorrow Imma try to make some teriyaki styled drumsticks! I seriously spend too much time about thinking of what to EAT!!!

I’m finally down to blogging! I wanted to do it last night, but i was too tired and my eyes were hurting! :S
Imma split it into many different sections! But first I’m blog about the latest Parisien Suntanning yesterday! It’s a very sad case for me. It seems like i’m always easily forgotten by people here. Originally planned to go to Muji on saturday and maybe getting the possibility to catch a glimpse of Ian Somerhalder, Paul Wesley, Nina Dobrev etc etc~ The Vampire Diaries cast at Forum les Halles. But I waited whole day for a message from my friend, to know that they spent a bit too much time on their stuffs and literally forgotten about me. Great! So I kinda spent saturday doing nothing. I ended up watching the last episodes of King2Hearts. And i seriously cried a lot watching the end, well~ It did ended well!
I have these super urges to blog these days. I’ve been wanting to go out and explore Paris with a camera in my hand. I mean, this is the perfect chance right? Yet I can’t seem to find the perfect partner to accompany me. Until Sarah posted on facebook to ask who’s keen to go out walking on a sunday afternoon! Plan up in a jiffy, within 2hours I was out after I finished cleaning up the house, eating a bit.
We decided to go to Buttes Chaumont, in the 19th District. It’s a huge montainy park. I described it as a montainy park because there’s ridiculously a lot of slopes to climb! There’s also a cave and valley in it. Definitely not your everyday park!
The sun’s out, these zillions of people. Every green grassy spot in the park is occupied by people! It actually makes me lost my interest a little. But since i was soo into getting fresh air instead of being stuck in my house~~~
Some parts of the park feels like in Disneyland! We found this bridge -though I have no idea what’s the name- that’s woody and irony. At first I thought it was all cool and nice~ Until Sarah said, don’t you think that the bridge is moving?! And we stopped a while to feel. I was like OMG, IT IS MOVING!!!! I find that the older I grow, the more frightened I get when it comes to heights. I think that’s kinda sad. ;(
Meet the beauties! When I said, I don’t know how to swim, both of them are so keen to want to teach me! We started searching up on the public swimming pools in Paris. I do wanna know how to swim~ I think maybe one day I would be able to learn to surf? Just a fat hope dream!
Imagine if you live in one of those apartments? I think it’d be superb! Every morning, when you wake up, you’d open the window to have a taste of fresh air and the pretty greenery view. Not like my window, pouuf, I can see right through my neighbor’s house. Even though I don’t know who they are. Most of the time, the curtains are drawn~
Unfortunately, we didn’t go up to this highest point. Just took a view of it at the bottom of it!
Taddaaa! There’s isn’t any signboard around, but I guess this waterfall is natural.
Spotted a pair of pigeons! It’d be nicer if they were white doves, it’d make the whole scene more romantic!
I said that this place is natural right, look at these peaks, I doubt they are man-made too.
So voila, my sunday afternoon! I can’t wait for Tiphaine to come back to Paris to test out all the different bars/restaurants around my house!!! Till then imma put in more effort to blog I’m trying to bring my camera out as often as possible! I want to play with my gift polaroid! I haven’t been able to use it as often as I want to without wasting the films! Till then!
